Greek Paradise

After spending whole summer working, my family and I decided to arrange a well-deserved trip to Greece for 5 days. Despite the fact that it was November, Greek weather was still marvelous, sunny and warm.

Our first stop was Athens. The city of history and culture.

Streets there were so narrow that pretty much everybody was using bikes or small cars.

Going through those ancient columns was unbelievable.

Those guards are standing all day at the same position, so it became like a famous “tradition” to take a picture with them. 🙂

2 days spent in Athens, we aimed to Santorini.

I MUST say, this place is a legit heaven. Each building, each street, each view to the sea makes you feel like you are in paradise, rested in peace.

As my father told me, the reason these buildings are all white is that during the old times, greek people used to paint the houses they owned in white, just to make others sure that it belonged to them. So after that, it became like a thing for Santorini to be all painted in white.

On the second day, we visited the other district of the island – Oia, where you can see all the expensive shops, restaurants and photographic scenarios.

The whole island is a cliff, so it’s really hard to go down to the sea if you don’t specifically visit beachy side of Santorini – Kamari. So I’ve heard that people sometimes go in the sea from the port side.

Each house here owns its own pool, because of the cliff situation. But during the non-touristic seasons, they are usually empty. Even though it looks beautiful.

I must admit that this city is beyond romantic, so if you gotta lover, it’s a perfect place to visit. But on the other hand, to go there alone, or just with friends for a long term vacation, it will get boring, I assure you.

Now I’m back from this unforgettable trip to paradise and can’t wrap my mind around the whole reality thing. Back to Uni, back to life.

So if you’ve got a chance to travel, this is a MUST SEE place. You will never regret it!:)
